Cabinet de Curiosités of Thomas Erber at Siwilai Bangkok

Despite the socio-cultural and political difficulties of recent years, Bangkok continues to push forward and establish itself as a melting pot for pan-Asian pop culture. The arrival of Le Cabinet de Curiosités in the city this month exemplifies its growing significance as a relevant cultural hub. Conceived of by the French multi-disciplinarian and entrepreneur, Thomas Erber, Le Cabinet is a highly curated gathering of international brands and creatives who produce limited and one-off pieces available exclusively for the duration of the exhibition. Though already in its fifth year, Le Cabinet originally premiered in Paris followed by yearly stops in London, Berlin and New York before landing in the Thai capital at Siwilai, a newly opened concept store in the vein of Colette, 10 Corso Como, and Kapok. The boutique is located in the Central Embassy - a high-tech, spaceship-like shopping mall which also houses the first Thai outpost of Saint Laurent, Proenza Schouler, and even Truefitt & Hill, the original British barbershop. Le Cabinet de Curiosités de Thomas Erber opens its doors on the 20th of November and can be visited until the 21st of December.  PK
