aqua shard & Vivienne Westwood for Cool Earth Charity
True punk Dame Vivienne Westwood continues her battle for a better world: after epically driving on a white tank to Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron’s residence in Oxfordshire to protest against fracking in England, for the Christmas season she has teamed up with restaurant aqua shard to promote Cool Earth, a charity organization that works alongside indigenous villages around the world to save their rainforests from destruction. The collaboration’s results are a gargantuan Christmas tree decorated with handcrafted material from the rain forest and designed by Westwood and her husband, a Johnny Walker blue label cocktail, a special chocolate dessert, and most importantly, several sorts of handmade chocolate bars made from cocoa beans grown in the Asháninka valley in Peru - one of the world’s most at-risk areas for deforestation. The chocolate bars have been decorated with a wrapper that Westwood designed using traditional Asháninka markings used in local clothing. Cool Earth chocolate bars are priced at £3.95 each, and can be bought here. All proceeds will go directly to Cool Earth's rainforest partnerships.
